Brake Light Plausibility Error

2013 Clubman S, 70k miles. (Yes I know, but the R56 forum has more traffic)

I've searched here and with the almighty Google but can't really find anything specific to my issue.

I'm getting a brake error code. My Foxwell NT530 indicates the error code is a brake light plausibility error. Brake lights work and cruise control works. I cleared the code and it came back immediately. Is this a stop light switch (that's what Mini/BMW calls it) issue or something else. Any recommendations on what the issue is and/or what specifically I need to do to diagnose and resolve?

Thanks!!!

Maybe the light has corrosion? Seems like then tend to crack and leak.

Right, anytime there is a crack in any of the lenses, there is a chance of corrosion and create higher current resistance therefore your module(s) would pick up on high resistance throwing you some codes.

That's interesting. I had my third light go out, and the car never threw a code. Only reason I knew about it was when wife was driving behind me.

NO, you won’t get an alpha numeric code for brake light out. Instead you’ll get a lightbulb indicator on your tach telling you that your bulb is out.
