R56 P2764
P2764
READ ON- THIS IS RESOLVED
I have an 09 Mini Cooper S with 127,000 mi on it. I just got it and the previous owner told me it had a new transmission put in it. I am getting the p2764 clutch pressure control solenoid CEL. I'm wondering if anybody has had this issue and what they have done to fix it?
I have changed the trans fluid, and cleaned the wiring harness connections, but that didn't fix it.
Is it possible the new transmission computer needs to be reset? Or needs adaptations done?

Little update
Welp, it looks like there's not much info on this issue out there. I've been reading the manual on the Aisin 09 transmission, and it looks the #4 solenoid (N91) is probably the culprit.
I do not have any shifting issues, or any strange behavior from the car at all. The solenoid is supposed to be between 4-8 Ohms. The P2764 code states that it's reading low circuit, so high OHMs? I will test and possibly replace the N91 solenoid and follow up.

Tested
I tested the N91 solenoid and got some interesting results.
First tested hot after driving. It measured 7.5 OHMs, which is within the acceptable range.
Then I tested it cold and it measured 10-12 OHMs, and was fluctuating. It's supposed to be a max of 8 OHMs, I reckon this means it's bad, and needs to be tested cold to get a proper reading.
New one is on order.

Nother Update
Still waiting on parts. Tried to drive the car yesterday and I have a new check engine code that's also related to the clutch solenoid, and a picture of a gear with an exclamation on my dash.
When I put the car in gear it's really rough, as if the torque converter is fully engaged.
This is the first symptom that the car has shown, and I can only assume it's because the N91 solenoid has failed completely.

Solenoid installed
I got the N91 solenoid installed, and my CEL went away, but I'm still having issues. The car goes into gear, but pulses/slips/thuds.
Almost feels like it's low on fluid but I pumped in as much as I took out, I'm wondering if I need the adaptations reprogrammed.

You might still have a fluid level issue; pumping in as much as you took out is assuming the level was correct in the first place. Suggest you follow the servicing procedure in the manual. IM me if you need it and I'll pull it down for you.

I took it to a shop who said the fluid is good but it sounds like it's sucking air. You can hear the trans pump whining a little. They wanted $600 just to drop the pan and "poke around"
I pulled the valve body again, put the old solenoid back in, and I still had the same issue.
I pulled it a 3rd time went over everything with a fine tooth comb, put the new solenoid back, put the old harness and filter back in. I was told to try and overfill it a quart initially to get everything pumping smooth. Somehow it works fine now, shifts smoother than ever.
I'm pretty sure my weird clunk/slipping issue had nothing to do with the N91 solenoid. If you're having similar issues I suggest checking your wiring, bolt torque, filter, and overfilling the fluid (just at first).
