Help with Code P0341 -2007 R56 Cooper S
Hi everyone,
I recently purchased this car and of course, the car did fine upon inspection and never had any codes show up on my code reader or the ultraguage in the car. The car has 140k with the timing chain serviced at 124k. The car runs normally and isn't down on power. I read up and bit on this code which states the crank position sensor (this engine is the n14 I believe with two sensors 1 on top and one underneath. I replaced both for around 70 bucks and my issues persist. Any help would be appreciated.

P0341 is for the intake camshaft position sensor, not crankshaft. Maybe that's why the code persists? If you are standing in front of the car and looking at the engine, the inlet camshaft sensor is at the back right corner of the cam cover, near the PCV vent tube connection.

Here are the service notes for that code:
1. Check signal wire for short to positive, ground, open wire. (ignition off)
2. Check sensor voltage supply (4.5 to 5.5 V) (ignition on)
3. Check plug contacts (intermittent open)
4. Check sensor installation (gap to reluctor ring is too large/small, Specification is 0.1 to 2.0 mm)
Determine whether camshaft sensor is installed correctly and ensure that the bolt is not loose. Torque is 1.5 - 2 Nm
The sensor must be positioned vertically above the camshaft reluctor ring
Inspect the O-ring and replace if damaged or missing.
5. Check reluctor ring for correct installation and for damage --> Check alignment (timing setting) of camshaft reluctor rings
6. Replace sensor
