Hi, I have a 2007 47000 miles mini cooper with check engine light on, my DIS scan tool has a code 287D inlet vanos actuator, I have swapped vanos valves also changed the oil and still have the code 287d, chain rail guide look fine. Any deal what could be?

* MINI DTC P0012 (0x287D) - 'A' Camshaft Position Timing Over-Retarded (Bank 1)
The ECU is seeing a mechanical mis-position on the intake camshaft.
That's either because of physical mistiming of the engine, or the timing chain has too much slack in it.
Have that checked IMMEDIATELY!
