Blue smoke from exhaust

I bought 2012 mini cooper s about a month ago and I believe I did not see any smoke even when I had smog check at the shop. They rev some times and did not see any smokes coming out of exhaust.
I had problem with whistle noise from pcv and there were little leaks from valve cover so I replaced with the one that selling from amazon and whistle was gone but After few days later, I drove few miles and rev few time at the parking lot and I see some blue smokes from exhaust and it was pretty bad and smelled burning oils. I went to the shop and I was told it would be valve stem seals but not sure if it could be bad pcv on new valve cover or it's really because of valve stem seals.

Cheap knockoff valve covers come in for considerable bad press. The advice is to spring for the genuine MINI cover.

I've seen in the service manual where the pressure inside the engine can be measured and from this a problem with the PCV system confirmed. Think you need to consider having that done. If the pressure is within spec then that points to the valve stem seals. If not then the replacement valve cover or the PCV is that is not part of the valve cover is suspect.
