I have 2012 mini cooper s and my current coilovers are dead so I'm planning to replace them to stock one. While I was looking up the offerup and found this whole front & rear shock assembly and the seller said they have 86k miles on them and they were off from R55 clubman s. I wonder if R55 clubman shocks are compatible with R56 as well. I feel like there is leak on rear shocks like last picture below. can anybody tell me if they are fine or not?
Nobody on this forum (apart from the magic 8-ball) can tell you if they are "fine" ... well except Jesus, but I don't think he's a forum member.
When I pulled the OEM shocks from my BMW 335i at the 80,000 mile mark and disassembled them, both of them were dead. At 86K miles, those units are probably already at end of life or very close, Don't waste your time and money. Go to Rock Auto . com and get yourself a nice set of Bilsteins B4s; they are $70.00 each; don't forget to replace the upper strut mounts. You'll also want to replace the bumpers and inner cylinder covers (anything plastic or foam).
Now if you're really dead set on buying/installing someone's used junk. You can find out if they are compatible with you car by going to realoem.com and entering the last 7 from your fin and the last 7 from the donor car's vin and compare the part numbers.

I concur with above. OE struts/shocks are horrible from new Imho. Bilstein-(b4's or b6's) would be my suggestion.

+1. I wouldn't use 80k used struts even if was given to me for free.
