How (tf) do I replace the bushings on the Hotchkis Hsport Competition 25.5mm bar? The bracket that holds them in place is jammed up against the frame in a way that none of the rear sway bar bushing videos I've found (all with smaller bars, afaict) resemble.
I removed the bolts and used a mallet and block of wood to try to knock it loose, but that didn't work. And my skills basically begin and end with "hit it with something."
Here's the passenger side, but the driver's side looks identical.
Dropping the rear isn’t that hard, once you have it in the air, remove the 2 bolts holding the top of the rear shocks, 13mm I believe, then there are 2 16mm bolts holding the rear subframe, on each side. The one that is closer to the front of the car is shorter and can be removed, the other one is longer and doesn’t need to be fully removed, but loosened enough so you can get a wrench in there. Those 16mm get torqued back to 85 ft lbs.
