Tchometr Swap Problem.

Hello .
But i wand little modification inside my Red Arrow R56 2007 i change:

-Radio to Proffesional LCI
-Cimatronic Panel to LCI
-Lamp rear to LCI.

OK now is chroming inside ...all is great Crosk air frame of speakers.

Now i change tachometro to chrome and problem.....
Good news: System noise notyfication i can change volume in radio and is nice(better

BUt........ Dont work : service counter , and gearshift indicator.

I must buy the same firmware an hardware tacho ? but in chrome frame ?

If you change the complete rev counter it will need coding to the car.

You could put your original rev counter internals (face/dial etc) into the housing with the chrome surround.

The tachometer is a member of the computer system in the car. You cannot swap the tach without having it married to the car. Alternatively, as @airbusA346 suggested, swap the internals from the factory gauge into the LCI gauge.

I did a swap from white gauges to the later anthracite option gauges, and ended up swapping the gauge faces and putting my original gauge back in the car as I was getting similar issues to you, plus a mileage tamper dot.

I did the same as you because I wanted the fJCW Dark Grey faces. Dealer wouldn't guarantee they could code second hand rev counter and wanted £800 for a new one.
