TPMS Replacement - what to buy?

Hey all. I had to replace my TPMS several years ago and when I did I bought one that was not programmed off of Amazon. I've been unsuccessful at trying to get it programmed. I'm planning to give the car to my son for college and prefer to give it to him without the warning light. Can you recommend a replacement sensor that's already programmed?

Do I need to replace all four or can I just replace the one?

The ones I've gotten from Tire Rack have always worked okay, search by car model. But as long as you get the right frequency any tire shop should be able to reprogram sensors.

If you're sure the problem is just the one then you can just replace the one. The batteries only last ~8 years, though, so if the others are pretty old it might just be worth replacing them all, especially if you're already doing tires at the same time.

I have the autel ones, you have to program them and if you dont have the programmer then you have to buy one which cost more then the sensor kits, easier way is the Huf ones which are OEM, just a lot cheaper. I have used those also. VDO and continental are oem dependent on the year/model.

I am replacing mine with Autel. I have the programmer so not an issue. I "made my bed" with Autel on another vehicle so once you have their programmer, you use their sensors. Only downfall to their programmer, it only programs their sensors. This is the case with most TPMS programmers unless you get into the really high $$$ units.
