Mini One 2008 VVT Issues

Hi everyone,

I have had some issues with the valvetronic on a recently bought Mini One. The first problems appearing were 2868 Valvetronic motor, sluggish movement and 285E Valvetronic adjustment range. I have managed to sort out the sluggish movement problem by replacing the motor as it wasn't smooth to turn it with a hex key.

I can't sort the adjustment range and I've tried to relearn the adjustments but ISTA fails to do so, I can hear the motor turning for 2-3 seconds and then it stops. Reading the eccentric shaft values I can see that the actual value is stuck at 180deg and it's not changing even by turning it manually. The eccentric shaft set value is changing but I guess that's what the ECU tells the motor to turn to.

I don't have any eccentric shaft sensor codes thrown but obviously the fact that it's stuck at 180deg seems like a problem. Do you think I should try and replace the sensor?

Cheers!
