Valvetronic problem

Hi there, I need your expert opinion. I've got mini cooper R56 base model not S, n12 engine. 2008, with 34200 miles on clock. The problem started a few days ago when the engine cuted off itself as I drove without any errors on the dashboard! Not able to start since then! Towed to home. Scan it for errors and it throws 2869, 28B4, 2863- Valvetronic; servomotor, sluggisch movement! So it's seems that Actuator motor is not working correct. But before I jump to buy this expensive part I want second opinion! The question in my mind is: Does faulty valvetronic actuator motor can cause the engine to cut off on the drive way and does it can to prevent the engine to start! am really confused. Any opinion appreciated! By the way, all fuses and rellays checked! All fine! Cheers!

I had the same issue where my engine just cut out. I couldn't Rev it. I popped the valve cover off and my timing chain was off along with the alignment of the camshafts. My 2012 MCS threw a different valvetronic code but I'm guessing that it was the reason for the misalignment and eventual chain pop. This is probably what happened to your cooper as well. I'd get that cover popped and timing checked. And before you go replacing anything make sure when it's times that the valves aren't bent with a compression test. I know this is a couple months late but good luck if you see this
