I have a leaking sensor on the side of the block, down low close to the oil pan. It is located on the inboard side by the lower engine mount and the PS driveshaft. I've tried identifying the sensor with online parts houses and your normal brick ones and no one knows what it is which is just weird! Sensor has a T20 screw holding it in, but when I try and tighten it just turns 360 and never tightens.
I cannot help with the sensor but interesting as just the other day I was under the car and noticed this sensor but there are no wires going to it! Any idea where the other end of the wire harness connects to?
Very helpful thank you. Mine is not connected! When Mini installed our new engine I guess they forgot all about it. Wondering what are the repercussions for not having? *#@% I will google.
Trying to figure out where the other end of the harness goes can't tell from the bottom end, I will look at it once the noisemaker delete pipe comes and I have to replace.
I am having a small oil leak from down in this area but not sure if it's coming from there or not, only other place is Vanos and I just replaced so.....
Any idea where the top part of the harness connects to / source is?

How in the world am I not getting any MIL's / codes and car is running fine without it being connected?
Is your engine an N14? I don't believe the N14 has the oil pump solenoid. You mentioned Mini replaced the engine. Maybe the new N14s from Mini use an N18 block so that sensor is just along for the ride. Just a guess...but that would explain no codes or other issues.

Frankly it is the only thing that makes sense, there is a part for the N14 so I will contact the dealer and see what they say
