I have had my 2010 mini base model for about a month now and I cant figure out the rear hatch button. I can pop the rear hatch open with out issue using my key fob but, but it is hit or miss when i use the button on the hatch itself. I tried unlocking the doors from the key and the car and it makes no difference. The button workes fine and an hour or 2 later without the car moving, the button wont work. Is there a procedure or something that i am missing? Thanks in advance.

 

The microswitch is on its way out . If the gasket it damaged, water can get in there.
