Coming from a Clubbie, I love the button that pops the door, especially when have bags in hand. Never thought to look or ask at dealer, but have a 12 MCS on order and wondering if the fob has the same button to pop the hatch?

There are a lot of things I didn't think to ask regarding differences and changes, so if anyone knows of any others I would love to hear them! Was just so excited to get a new MINI!

The Hardtop fob also has that function. In fact, I'm not sure of any other way to open the hatch!

On my 2012 Hardtop, the boot buttons on both key fobs do nothing at all, regardless of whether the car is locked or unlocked. It's never a problem since the boot unlocks with the rest of the doors, but I thought it was wierd that the buttons serve no function on mine...

The only thing the boot button does on my 2012 MCS is set off the alarm if I hold it too long. I figured I was just not doing something right and would figure out how to make it open the boot eventually.... Seems weird it only sets off the alarm.

Sounds like something your dealer needs to fix... Button should pop the hatch - since neither key does it that suggests a problem on the car end.

Are you sure? Nothing will happen if you just push the button. You have to push and hold for 1 or 2 seconds...

On my 2011 you hold the button for a bit and then he hatch unlocks and you pull it open. if the car is unlocked then you have to use the little button on the hatch handle.

If the hatch is unlocked, there is a button on the underside of the boot handle that opens the hatch. Maybe you knew that, but it sounds like maybe you didn't.

Like someone else said, hold the hatch button for a second or so and it pops open on the hardtop. Well, if the car is working properly anyway.
