Had "Barry the Cooper" for almost 2 months now, a 2011 Cooper S 6MT. I've noticed a couple of times that the cog symbol with a triangle around it flashes up on the display but promptly disappears. Manual says little other than related to transmission. Is this possibly because the transmission is cold? Only seen it so far on short hops.
It also popped up this morning when starting up in well below freezing temps, but again went immediately away. One doesn't normally need to check the transmission fluid in an MT do they?
I just bought a Schwaben code reader, but a play around with that last night didn't show any codes.
Searching the forum hasn't brought much help, mostly what I've seen is related to ATs.
Yes indeed, that's what I saw the other morning. Now, I'm not sure what came up a couple of weeks ago and last week - this one or the transmission one. Does this snowflake symbol pop up randomly or just at startup?
Not randomly. When it gets colder than 37F. Mine triggered and chimed while driving home during an arctic blast. Worried me until I figured out what it was.
