Has anyone retrofit the 2011-12 LCI climate control cluster?

The silver plastic of the steering wheel controls and climate cluster looks especially cheap IMO and was something that turned me to looking for a 2012 car, but alas the Laurel Edition was too good looking and a great deal for me to pass up. Now I'm looking to convert the inside to the newer LCI refreshed black style 2011-12 interior controls. Anyone else done this? Looks like I will need a new speedo too?

It may cost a couple of thousand for parts alone. The black plastic isn't available separately and you'd have to purchase the complete replacement modules.

Plus you'd have to work around the different **** placement for the years, because your volume **** isn't integrated into the head unit.

I'd figure out another solution but it would keep me from owning a '07-'10 so I feel your pain.

I'm waiting for something to pop up on ebay. Eventually ppl will total their 2011-12 cars and they'll start hitting the junk yards.

hello,
i've got a MCS R56 08'. I've installed OEM heated seat, and OEM "wiring". I have bought the new black IHKA to had OEM button (switch), for heated seat. Unfortunally, it doesn't work ! i have no fan, no blow, and the green led of the A/C blink.
i have added VO value $494. But i can't code IHKA, because it is not recognize.
Does anyone know if they are difference between wiring IHKA 08' and the new black IHKA ?
SPEG module must to be recoded .
Sorry for my (bad) english

hello .. did you ever figure this out? As I am in the same situation .. ive gone from Manual IHKS to IHKA and everything works apart from the blower fan, if I apply a control voltage from the climate unit pin 17 it runs, so know it must be a coding or inhibition issue.

ive added oem heated seats and wiring and they all work??

all the best

nick
