Getting back into a mini & Question on climate control panel

Hey all,
it’s been a long time since I’ve had my mini and something I realized after a 4 long years without one is that I miss it! So I’m looking at buying one.

The mini I found I really like except for the fact that it’s climate controls aren’t able to be digitally set (can’t set the temp) it’s all analog (my old mini had digital settings) so I was thinking of buying a used set of controls from another R56 and installing them but I’m not sure if it’s plug and play. Does anyone know?

Also so the second issue is no heated seats. I was also thinking of going just buying new OEM seats with the heating Elemis but again want to make sure it’s plug and play or if there is something I have to do to make them work I’d like to know.

Any info go would be greatly appreciated!
thanks!
D

What you are referencing is the automatic climate control system (IHKA). The mini you're looking at has the manual system (IHKS). You can still set the temperature, but you go by feel when selecting the temperature.

No you can't simply install an IHKA climate control module in a car that came with an IHKS system. You would have to install all of the sensors (solar sensor, duct sensor etc) the IHKS system doesn't have, and you'd have to code the module to the car; it's not plug and play.

If you really want a car with the IHKA system, buy one that has it.

Not sure about the auto climate. it might be as mkov608 said. Now for the seats, you need to run i think 3 or 4 wires back to the fuse box. also the climate control has to have the option of course. Lastly, you need to add the VO to the CAS and FRM and code the fuse box to enable the option.
