Just picked up a 2013 base Cooper and went to try to connect it with my Bimmercode app; no go. That app works wonders with our F60. I looked up compatibility and it picks up with Gen 3 apparently. What are folks using to code their Gen 2's? I searched forums here and everything popped up in the Gen 3 forums. Thanks.
Thanks for the input folks. I was hoping my Bimmercode app would work with a Gen 2 as flawlessly as it does with the Gen 3. I read mixed reviews of Carly so I'm still undecided.
Still undecided on the coding tool, but did get a Foxwell 520 scan tool and will play with it even though there is very limited coding capability possible.
I have a 2012 r56s and I was able to code my key to roll the windows up with some other app that I can't remember the name of now and just a cheap bluetooth OBD2 adapter. Do you guys know if there's any way to have the windows (on mine) roll up/down all the way without having to hold the button?
on my 2010 R56....i have coded a few things already...the one thing that i can't get coded is the disabling of the bulb checks, since i replaced every exterior lamp with leds, except the headlights.
Which module did you successfully connect and modify on the '13 R56 MCS? With Bimmercode I'm unable to connect and modify the footwell module.
I have changed the one-touch turn signal duration to 5. This setting is in Footwell module. Also tweaked couple of settings in Instrument Cluster.
Which adapter are you using?
When you say you are unable to connect, do you mean you can't connect Bimmercode.app with adapter at all, or is it just a Footwell module showing as not supported (similar to Headunit in my screenshot)?
I'm using Bimmercode on iOS in conjunction with the Veepeak OBDCheck BLE+ on a 2011 Mini Cooper S. Attempting to change the cold and warm monitoring checks for the front and rear parking/turn signals and rear brake lights.
Upon connecting Bimmercode to the OBDII reader receive a green status indicator on all modules but the head-unit section. Attempting to connect to the footwell module ends with a pop up error message...below.
Reviewing the Supported Coding Options on the web site under the voltage section indicates support for the functions I'm attempting to change.

Yes, these options do show up for me under footwell module. I have a feeling I've seen this error mentioned somewhere. Possibly on some other NAM thread. Try searching for it.
Was your car coded previously by any chance using different tool?
Maybe contacting app developer can shed some light on this issue?
There's been no coding on the car that I've performed. The previous owner, I can't be certain. I sent the Bimmercode email address a support request earlier today so we'll see what happens there. I'll search for the error in the forum to see if I get any additional info. Thanks.
Was able to resolve the issue. Using a Schwaben code scanner, found four codes stored. Wish I would have recorded or saved them. There was a fault in the FRM (footwell) module. Cleared all codes. Was unable to connect to the OBDII BT adapter, not sure why. Started ran the car for about 5 minutes. Shut off the car. Then I was able to connect to the OBDII BT adapter and view the configuration list under the footwell module. Undoubtedly fault state of the footwell module was preventing Bimmercode from being able to pull data from the module. Thanks!
