Mini Specialist

I live 50 miles from the nearest Mini Dealer. Not that the dealer would be my first choice after my pa$t experience$ with them. I tried to find a local shop that knew Mini's only to be mislead about their knowledge and tools.

I've searched this site for a repository of recommended Mini technicians, but didn't see one. So.........

If there is one, please point me to it OR
If there isn't one, lets start one here.

It might be worth making another to warn of shops that say they specialize, but don't even have the tools to measure timing chain slack (I have a nomination for that category if it's requested.)

Check out the Club and Regional Forums, and check out -

Also, contact MiniToBe - he's in Philly, but a great resource (and shade tree mechanic)

even if the dealer were at my door steps, I wont go lol. I work on my minis all the time so much so they became part of my hobbies. It is good to invest in tools and software if you plan on keeping it.
some of the helpful site including this one are:

www.realoem.com
www.newtis.info

Software to own:
ISTAD
NCS Expert
(inpa, winfkp)
those work with a K+Dcan usb/obd cable
