Exhaust Fitment

Hey guys, I did a quick search and didn't see this, so if this is already on the forums please just let me know.

I just bought and installed the CNT Racing exhaust (downpipe-back) and everything fits together except with the style the sections attach to each other, they kind of sag. Beyond the downpipe, the remaining exhaust comes in three sections and couple together by sleeving into one another and band clamps to go around the connections. I have three problems with this setup:
  • Where the bands clamp, the connection seems to be fairly tight, but if I put a little force on it, they still flex independently of each other and you can tell it is jointed. This causes the second problem which is:
  • The middle section that sits above the subframe connector ends up rattling against the subframe connector at a certain RPM.
  • My last problem is with the tips; they are too close to the plastic and were originally touching when everything was initially mounted up. I tried to bend them down a bit and it looked like it helped, but after a test drive it looked like there was some plastic residue on one of the tips meaning it was still too close and possibly touching the bottom of the bumper/fascia.
The reply I've received from CNT Racing makes sense which is to shift the subframe connector down by using washers or something like it to space it lower. That will potentially solve part of the problem. My other solution is to have my buddy weld the 3 sections of pipe together, which will prevent the flexing. The last step, from what I can guess, is to put a spacer on the muffler hangers to drop the tips away from the bumper a bit. My dad also suggested to get another hanger (just a universal clamp hanger from an auto parts store) to add an extra bit of strength and keep the pipe from flexing between the existing sets of hangers.

I think the plan I have currently will fix everything, but I wanted to post here to see if anyone else has experienced a similar issue and what they did to fix it.

Update: I decided not to put the middle hanger up because I noticed the majority of the rubbing in both the middle cross-brace and the bumper were being caused by the front section hanging too low. Where the front two hangers are, if I pressed the exhaust assembly up the middle section had enough relief room to not touch and it flexed the pipe so the tailpipe was slightly lower as well. I used two hose clamps as a temp fix to tighten where the current front hangers were and the 1/2 to 3/4 inch of slack that was removed fixed the majority of the problem. I also put some washers in the rear hanger bracket to space it downward a bit to help give the tips a little extra room away from the bumper. I'm still going to get the exhaust welded to tighten everything up and have it done "right," but this will get me by for a while until then.
