Has anyone dropped their AISIN automatic transmission with car on jack stands?
SubscribeGuys,
I need to fix bad input shaft seal on my trans. Ive taken out the motor and trans with a cherry picker but havent tried to drop the trans-only from below. I have a scissor lift that gets the car up 2.5 feet,
I need to know if this is enough space to drop the subframe and trans.
Anyone done it? I assume the guys with clutches have been able to so why shouldnt an automaitic also slide out from below.

My concern is access to the bolts that hold the transaxle to the engine. I did had those out of the car when I took them apart and mated them again.
how was it?

I did it per the bentley manual and had no big troubles. Access to the bolts was good. I put the car in service mode which some say is unnecessary, but it help when unplugging some electric connection on the trans.
Cool. Thanks for letting me know. I have a cheap Harbor Freight transmission jack which should help lowering it down.
