Searched but couldn't find answer to the question. Have replaced a lot of brakes but have not dealt with the screw in type caliper piston. Is it necessary to get/borrow the tool made for the job or can the piston be turned/screwed down with channel locks or needle nose vice grips?
What tool did you get? Its been awhile since I did this? About time to do it again
The Harbor Freight one - 44 bucks. Works fine. Unfortunately, discovered the left rear piston rubber all mangled up - stuck the new pads on, buttoned it up, ordering a new caliper.
