Thoughts on this guy?

I'm heading to Savannah next weekend to see some friends and thought I'd pop in to see this car while there.

Dont know what to read into the maintenance history...good that things have been replaced, or it's needed a ton of things replaced already at a lowish mileage.

In any case, it'll be a fun side trip

I do not know anything about the dealer but from the picture, they might know more about a Mini Skirt than a MINI Cooper. As you asked, I would not buy anything from a "storefront" type dealer without first getting a PPI from a reputable MINI shop/

It is a nice clean looking car but as Dave.O said in a recent post that he details cars all the time and can make a POS look like a million dollars. The issue is what condition the engine and transmission are in.

The price is high. I'm in the process of selling my wife's similarly equipped 2012 MCS. Seems the resale value is around $7k.

Just visually from the photos, there is a grapefruit-sized dent on the hatch on the "Cooper S" badge. PDR would pop that out, so I'm wondering why the dealer hasn't taken care of that yet.

So I went to GA and jumped in this one for a quick 5 mile ride. Was hoping to be pleasantly surprised, but sadly, I wasn't.

Not that I'm trying to knock all small dealers like this, but it followed the normal recipe...a good detail, new tires, an engine bay clean, and a fresh oil change.

But if you've been in a car that just feels like it's barely holding itself together, this was that car, and I thanked them and moved on.

Always fun to take a little car safari though!
