What oil do I need?

So I brought my mini in for recall and had my mini dealership do my oil change. Now my question is I'm going to need to top off my oil so do I need mini brand oil or can I use another Brand but the same type? If I do need many Brandon oil any suggestions on the cheapest place to get it

Looks here, the stuff they use at the dealer is the 5w-30 LL01 spec. Just make sure it meets that or above it whatever oil you prefer. We have plenty in stock. Just an update the euro mobile 1 lost its LL-01 rating but some people still like it and still use it(as it had it before). That was the only change up in the MINI oil game. The new MINI oil comes in a black bottle and is the shell euro, branded Pennzoil here in the states I guess because people would know that name better. Hence all the BMW commercials you have seen on TV :

As ECS said: 5w30 (5w40) LL01 oil

I have used:

- Castrol Edge
- Motul X-cess 8100

Next time I will be testing:

- Liqui Moly Leichtaff High Tech
