Methanol Kit

I just purchased a snow performance stage 2 methanol Kit for My 2010 S with a stage 2 Manic tune. I Have questions regarding the setup.

Where is the best place to install the injector? I am using this for cooling so I can run Map C all the time. Thanks for the help In advance. Brett

Are you going to tune the car with Meth? or you plan to just ad the kit as is?

check out this link to get a better understanding of the different placements

That is my question. Do I have to send the ecu back and have a tune for meth or can I just install the kit?

Generally people install the jet in the pipe after the intercooler in the bend by the dipstick.

Manic can customize the tune for meth. Though I believe Map C is designated for 100 octane, I don't know if a methanol kit will raise the equivalent octane up that much strictly through cooling.

The methanol itself raises the octane.

@cerenkov Thanks for the pic and help. Are you tuned with it or did you just install?

I would recommend that you clean the intake valves before you install the kit.
If you already have carbon build up, it will create wet gunk when you spray meth onto the valves.

Another thing to bare in mind. After you tune your car with meth, the car will depend on meth, so make sure you never run out.

I have a Manic stage 2+, map c for me is methanol injection or 100+ octane only. I've never used map C, don't want to know what I'm missing, lol.

For my meth kit (Aquamist hfs4) I've wired up the failsafes but have never set them to active since I'm always on map B and it's not required.

Did the white or blue nozzle come with your kit?

I remember Mario from Manic telling me to either put 100 octane gas or run Meth with Map C. It should provide the knock resistance needed for that tune.

I'm currently on Map C with E40/91 blend. Car runs like a champ.

Am running map C right now
on
70/30 e85 with no math
an before that
just on 93
an never had any problems
but I've never heard of the
100% octane thing
I know map c don't
like the stock
ko3's
in higher boost you can
definitely tell it's runing it's self out of air

I'm seeing 22.6 psi on the factory turbo, but after 4krpms, it runs out of breath and the engine out flows the turbo.... Glad I have the JMTC S42 ported and polished ready for the install this weekend.

As for map flashing, I have the SPS which allows me to switch from Map A, B, or C. I don't have to send the DME back for a reflash. But for my Stage 3 tune after the JMTC S42 turbo install, yes, it will need to be bench flashed again.
