coolant warning sign

hi all
i just finished replacing the water pump and thermostat due to leaks, when i tried to start the mini, the coolant yellow sign showed in the dash and cannot start the car, then the fan starts going for a few minutes stops and runs again, not sure what to do,i purchase all the parts from ECS so i dont think they are failing, has any of you experience this before? any suggestions or comments will be appreciated

ok, found what was wrong, in my rush to get this thing fixed , i connected the water pump plug to the air boot connection ,if you ever do this fix, next time do yourself a favor and mark the plugs, anyways the fan stop and the coolant warning is off, but the car is not starting, now i have the check engine light and the start/stop button doesn't do anything, any ideas?

Last time I read about a "no start" problem, the guy forgot to reconnect a ground strap --- chassis to passenger side motor mount.

Thanks for the order, sounds like one of the cables is not pulled in or is swamped. Do you have a picture of the area and engine ?
