Yes, you are correct. You are looking at 2 separate issues here. The noise is from the vacuum pump. The oil pressure issue is your only concern really and has nothing to do with the vacuum pump. I'm told by my mini dealer that the noise from the vacuum pump is normal and not to replace it.
