R56 2007 R56S Engine Removal
2007 R56S Engine Removal
It took about 1 1/2 days to carefully pull the engine (my first time). But it's going to a good home (another NAM member).
What I learned:
Overall not a bad job. I used a Makita cordless impact wrench and just went to town.
I didn't have a special tool to release the fuel line from the HPFP so I disconnected the other side about 2 ft down towards the tank.
The passenger side front axle comes out in one long piece - so not the same looking part as the drivers side.
There really a lot of parts crammed in a small space.
I have a lot of parts I pulled off the engine and the front half of the car if anyone needs anything.
68,000 when it stopped rolling down the road.

(Also have a post in the market place).

In case anyone comes to this thread looking for instructions, I have put together additional instructions.
