Air Conditioning Maintenance

Hey guys, I am taking the MINI in next week to the shop for a checkup. Is there anything that should be done for the Air Conditioning in order to keep it fully operational? I do not know anything about this area.
I read about the refrigerant, but I wasn't sure if that was just 1st Gen MINIs.

If it's cooling OK, don't mess with it. The newer refrigerants have smaller molecules than the older R-12, so they may have more of a tendency to leak. If your AC works but isn't as efficient as it used to be, you may need to have the system charged back to full capacity.

a standard check looks at the pressures high and low for the coolant gas

loss of the gas is your most typical failure and adding a little periodically is not unheard of. Here if FL I have the house system checked annually.

If the car is for sure cooling as well as day 1 I wouldn't mess with it but if in doubt get it checked. Fixing a small leak b4 it becomes a problem can save $$.

You don't need a dealer for a check .... a/c is a/c ....
