2007 -> 2008+ Climate Control Module retrofit?

Hey, I was wondering how involved going from this AC module:

...to this one:

...would be? Would I need any parts other than the obvious heated seats and radio panel fascia? I think the second one looks sharp as hell, and I can get one for pennies on the dollar.

The top picture is manual AC and bottom is Auto AC. Unfortunately there's much more to the retrofit than just the heated seats and front face trim. I think there might be coding involved so the vehicle knows the car has Auto AC, as well as some additional hardware that goes in the engine bay. I'm not sure of the exact requirements but if you look up auto ac retrofit I'm sure you'll find threads with people's past efforts for this.

Quick google search returned this as one of the top results:

Bottom line is: what you want to search for is the automatic AC retrofit

Here is the how too. The title states R60 but there are others on the thread that have done it to an R56. No coding but a little electrical work and a couple sensors.

Hi, I did to my mini this upgrade work yesterday but after I connected everything the new ac control won’t start! Do It need coding?
