I too have a 08 Non-S Mini Cooper Hatchback manual trans I picked it up almost 1 year ago with 120,000 and it now has 147,000 plus on it runs great uses a little bit of oil but now bad. I have no idea what maintenance it had before I got it except for it was well preserved and sat for over a year. (it was way over full on oil I drained almost 3 gals out of it)! I obviously drive it daily and average about 85 miles a day (it is 45 miles to work one way).
MCS 2010 85 mile daily driver also. 143,000 and never had any major problems. Replaced the timing chain myself thanks to the folks here and feels like new. Change my oil regularly.
2008 Mini Cooper - 232,000 miles (one owner daily commuter, 120 miles, original engine, trans and clutch). Just started (@ 200K miles) burning a little oil between changes. Hope to keep driving for another 17 months!
2015 Mini Convertible - 5,900 miles (weekend, good weather ride)

I think we have a winner!!! Anyone have more? That's awesome! I'll bet it will go double that with regular work!
2003 Base Cooper 253,000 miles (not a typo - original engine, transmission, and clutch)
replaced by
2013 Coupe S lease return - 6700 miles when I bought it, and I've added 6000 more in 5 months.

This aection of the forum and my question was referring to the R56 second gen. Everybody knows the first gens reliability. Why I'm asking is second gen.
