FS: 2007 Hardtop Base Manual

Hey guys, long time lurker, first time poster. A bit about myself, I've been a long time air cooled 911 guy. With kiddos in the mix, I've had to get my go kart fix via the mini route. Anyway, my wife is due with our third kiddo in a few months, so I've got to think the herd a bit. Here's some detail...

2007 Cooper, non-turbo, manual, heated seats, fog lights, no sunroof.

$5900

Located in Arlington VA (DC Metro) - I'm at rkarlton19 AT yahoo.com

British racing green with black interior.

This car is mechanically new. It has all of the "go fast" goodies of the Cooper S and JCW Mini, with the reliability of the base motor.

I purchased this car from a mechanic at the Alexandria Mini Dealership (I'm the 4th owner). He bought it from a coworker who purchased this vehicle from the original owner. The original owner neglected to fix a coolant leak and cooked the head. The chassis was purchased - and subsequently the engine, clutch, flywheel, shifter, calipers, brakes, struts, carpet, and a few other odds and ends were replaced. When he moved, the Mini mechanic gentlemen I bought if from continued to replace smaller and smaller components until he had constructed an essentially new MINI.

List of items replaced in the last ~10K miles:
New Engine (R56 base engine) - chassis has 198K on it
New ignition coils, spark plugs, fuel injectors and fluids
New clutch and flywheel
New shifter assembly
New front and rear brake calipers, pads and rotors from a Cooper S (larger front rotors, equivalent to the R53 JCW brakes)
New Cooper S Sport struts and strut mounts, JCW front strut brace
H&R coil springs
New windshield
New Carpet
New safety and emissions inspections
17" wheels from a Clubman S
Tires have about 5000 miles on them.
The roof rack base supports and luggage carrier
Boot organizer, etc. will come with the vehicle as well.
Paint is in decent shape, interior looks great

The luggage carrier makes an awesome road trip possible (four folding chairs, a folding crib, sand toys and luggage, etc).
