- WON A DOWN PIPE ON EBAY A MONTH BACK AND GOT IT CERAMIC COATED AT A FRIENDS SHOP. I ALSO HEAT WRAPPED IT AS WELL (I NEED TO THROW A FEW MORE BANDS ON TO HOLD IT IN PLACE BUT THE WRAP IS ON VERY TIGHT). WAITING TO PASS INSPECTION NEXT WEEK AND THEN THROW THAT BAD BOY ON.
- I WAS GETTING A CLUNK SOUND WHEN GOING OVER BUMPS AND AFTER THE FIRST INSPECTION THEY SAID I NEEDED STRUT TOWER MOUNTS. SOO I INSTALLED THAT AS WELL.. IT WAS PRETTY STRAIGHT FORWARD. i SPRAYED THE METAL PLATES TO HELP WITH ANY FUTURE RUSTING.
THAT DIDNT HELP COME TO FIND OUT ALL 4 SHOCKS ARE BLOWN.. I JUST GOT SOME MEGAN COILOVERS THAT WILL BE INSTALLED NEXT WEEK.
- I ALWAYS COMPLAINED HOW NOTCHY THE SHIFTER FELT AND HOW HARD IT WAS TO GO LEFT TO RIGHT.. AFTER TAKING EVERYTHING APART I WANTED TO START OFF GREASING ALL OF THE CONTACT POINTS AND JOINTS.. IT HELPED TREMENDOUSLY, HOWEVER I WILL END UP CHANGING ONE OF THE CABLES THAT WORKS THE LEFT TO RIGHT MOVEMENT. AFTER GREASING EVERYTHING UP THE UP AND DOWN MOVEMENT IS SILKY SMOOTH.. I ENDED UP BUYING A LIGHTLY USED MEGAN COIL OVER KIT (32 - WAY ADJUSTABLE) BEING THAT THEY HAVE THE REAR ADJUSTERS COMING UP THROUGH THE BACK i DECIDED TO STRIP THE INTERIOR OUT. NOW BEING THAT THIS CAR IS A TIN CAN, i DECIDED TO DO SOME SOUND DEADENING MATERIAL IN THERE.
- NEXT IT WAS TIME TO INSTALL THE REAR COILS!!! THE FRONTS WERE SUPER EASY.. SOO EASY I DIDNT TAKE PICS.. LOL

Great idea!!! The part you guys did not see is the silicone I put around the area. I wanted to keep the moisture out.

Got around to putting on the CNT Downpipe and Exhaust about two weeks ago. I'll show the install and give a quick review about the product..
- FIRST UP WAS THE CAT REMOVAL. BELIEVE IT OR NOT IT WAS THE EASIEST CAT REMOVAL THAT i HAVE EVER DONE. TRUTHFULLY I WAS TERRIFIED AFTER READING ALL OF THESE THREADS. THE HARDEST PART WAS THE NUTS ON THE HEAT SHIELD.
- I RAN INTO THE SECONDARY 02 SENSOR BEING SEIZED IN WITH THE CAT SO I LEFT IT IN THERE AND ORDERED ONE OFF EBAY.
- NEXT UP WAS THE CNT DOWNPIPE INSTALL. THE DOWNPIPE WAS CERAMIC COATED AND WRAPPED AND INSTALLED WITH A NEW OEM GASKET.
- INSTALLED THE NEW 02 SENSOR
- NEXT WAS THE EXHAUST WHICH WAS EASY TO REMOVE AND A 6 OUT OF 10 TO INSTALL.. ONE THING I WOULD RECOMMEND ARE NEW CLAMPS FROM AUTOZONE AND GET A VBAND WELDED IN WHERE THE DOWNPIPE MEETS THE FLEXPIPE ON THE EXHAUST.. I SAY THIS BECAUSE THE OEM CLAMP WAS NOT THE MOST SECURE AND THE CLAMPS THAT COME WITH THE CNT EXHAUST ARE JUST FOR SHOW...

- AFTER PUTTING ABOUT 200 MILES ON THE SYSTEM I DECIDED TO GET A VBAND WELDED IN BECAUSE THE OEM CLAMP SUCKED.. AND THE MUFFLER IS TOUCHING THE REAR VALENCE.. NOTHING A DREMEL TOOL CANT FIX.. THE BLUE TIPS WERE OK.. BUT RUNNING NO CAT THEY QUICKLY ARE BECOMING BLACK TIPS ..

- GOT THIS THING TINTED BECAUSE IT WAS TOO HOT THIS SUMMER 35% ALL THE WAY AROUND.
- I WAS GETTING A CEL AND ALSO THE CAR WAS RUNNING BAD SO I LOOKS AND SAW THAT THE VALVE COVER WAS CRACKED SO I DECIDED TO CHANGE IT OUT. WHILE AT IT I CHANGED MY DV AND INSTALLED THIS NICE SHINEY FORGE DV !
- MY EXHAUST WAS TOO LOUD SO I SOLD IT AND INSTALLED THE STOCK EXHAUST BACK ON. GOSH PEACE AND QUIET ONCE AGAIN.
- ONE DAY I GET BACK HOME AND I LOOK AND THE CAR IS HISSING AND LEAKING COOLANT SO I GOT IT TOWED TO MY FRIEND /BMW & MINI MECHANIC TO GET THE THERMOSTAT HOUSING FIXED AND GET SOME WALNUT BLASTING DONE. WHAT AN IMPROVEMENT!

- I WANTED TO HAVE MORE INFORMATION READILY AVAILABLE TO ME ON LONG DRIVES JUST INCASE OF ANYTHING. SINCE THESE CARS DO NOT HAVE ANY OF THAT I DECIDED TO USE THE WIFI DONGLE AND A CHEAP ANDROID TABLET FROM EBAY, AND A CD PLAYER MOUNT TO HOLD THE TABLET IN PLACE. NOT BAD FOR LESS THAN $75.00
- WELL AFTER DOING THE WALNUT BLASTING THE CAR JUST CAME ALIVE, SOOO ALIVE THAT IT WAS TORQUE STEERING REALLY BAD. SO I DID SOME RESEARCH ON HERE AND SAW THAT IF YOU DO THE LOWER MOUNT INSERT IT HELPS.. IT HELPED ABOUT 70% BUT IT STILL TORQUE STEERS A LITTLE BIT. THESE MOUNT INSERTS ARE AMAZING YOU GET A BIT OF CABIN VIBRATION DURING TAKEOFF BUT YOU GET USE TO IT PRETTY QUICK.
- NEXT I HATE THE CHROME ON MY CAR SO I DECIDED TO PLASTI-DIP EVERYTHING BLACK.
- GOT TIRED OF THE COILOVER AND THE RIDE SO I WANTED TO GO WITH A MORE STOCK LIKE SHOCKS AND SPRINGS. SOLD MY 16'S TO MY COUSIN FOR HIS R50 AND GOT A SET OF 17'S OFF A MEMBER HERE ON THE FORUMS...
- INSTALLED NEW ALTA REAR SWAY BAR, NEW FRONT AND REAR MOOD ENDLINKS, EIBACH SPRINGS AND STAGG SHOCKS. I HAD THESE SHOCKS ON MY 330I BACK IN THE DAY AND THEY WERE AMAZING AND ONLY $150.00 ON EBAY. THEY ARE STILL GOOD 5 YEARS AND 45K MILES LATER ON THE CAR WHEN I SPOKE TO MY FRIEND WHO BOUGHT THE CAR OFF OF ME.
