Water/Meth Install Help.

Hello, I am soon going to purchase a water/meth kit for my car and I have looked around but not found how to install it on my R56. Any help would be appreciated. (I have the N18)

Howerton HFS4 is, in my opinion, the best WMI system out there for the R56! Fully adjustable for any conditions you want to run. Good instructions and customer service is fantastic. Just don't even think about using poor quality methanol. I've been running a 50 - 50 mix for about 3 years, trouble-free!

I also have the HFS4 system from Aquamist/Howerton. If purchased from Howerton then the kit is customized to the MINI. Great system, comes with detailed instructions. It is more expensive than other systems, it all depends on what you want. Other kits are more generic, such as Devil's Own, but they will do the job and are fairly straight forward to install.

There are plenty of people here running meth with all the different kits, if you run into any issues just ask.

Do I have to "program" or input anything when I get mine or is the rate at which the pump operates a set rate? That question make sense?

Depends on which kit you buy. For the HFS4, there are a lot of settings but the factory defaults work for 99% of all people, so you really don't need to mess with them. If you choose to utilize the failsafes then you will have to set up the permit window, which can be confusing at first.

Most pumps are progressive. For the HFS4, this is referenced to injector duty cycle and manifold pressure. Other kits it is usually only manifold pressure.

Also are you planning on installing the tank and pump in the back or are you going to use the windshield washer container so you don't lose already limited space in the back.

Yes it will work. The instructions are going to be similar enough that you should be able to figure it out. The engine bays are slightly different so the routing of wires and tubing may vary.

Here's a link to his website --- http://howertonengineering.com

All the info you need is there. Pricing will vary with the options you choose.

Here's another link to a forum with more good info --- http://www.aquamist.co.uk/forum2/vbulletin/
