Just replaced the thermostat in my '09 MCS about two weeks ago. I use Torque to monitor things and today I threw a P112B code. Says it's the "Engine Coolant Temperature Sensor". While matching Torque I see my temperature go all over the place, as low as 40 degrees F. Now it's 55 degrees out so I know this isn't possible. I also ,too quickly to see properly, get a warning about something freezing on Torque. Am I going to have to install a new thermostat again?
i just replaced the thermostat housing on my 2011 mini and it had 1 plug in . the one i got has 2 so i bought the adapter for a two plug . the problem is i tried to reset the codes wich are as follows p0117,p0118,p0128 and p0599. it will not let me reset them . i need help . please
So much fun right fellas...I had to change mine twice and now check engine tells me the thermo is stuck to open..which I don't believe because I still get heat...if thermo was stuck open to my understanding I would not get heat from the core..I may be wrong but to all my years with an open thermo or no thermo no heat...
Love these codes and resets...lol tag1260 change the temp sensor its pretty easy..but do when engine cold this is under pressure with a clip...and drain the coolant to be safe of spray in your face..Joey I would get the thermo that is exactly like the one you take off adapters I don't believe in...
Haven't gotten the replacement thermostat yet but now I'm throwing code P0117. Am I even looking in the right direction with both of these codes? Could it be something else? I was getting a P0534 (or whatever the thermostat code is) code before I changed the thermostat and it hasn't reappeared since.
