a button in the engine bay

What kind of button is this? Im thinking of placing an oil catch can there and the screw is used by that button!

I believe that is the high tech switch to tell you if your bonnet is not down an latched.

Yes that's the alarm switch to detect hood opening. You can move it if needed you'll need to rig a little bracket

Also. You need to wash your engine compartment. lol !!! 😎

Don't listen to him, you're engine compartment is fine. Hell, the outside of my car is that dirty consistently. I live on a dirt road, and drive an hour to work. Life gets in the way.

And yes, that is your bonnet switch.

Ok suppose its for the alarm, then if i take it out, will i still get "open bonnet" light notification?

That's a different switch at the hood latch, so yes you will still get the notification.

Where is that different hood switch located?

Look at where the hood latches (at the end of the hood release cable), and you should find a switch with a wire connector.
