I have an old XM, lifetime subscription, Skyfi receiver. I move it from vehicle to vehicle in it's own "cradle".
I just got around to adding a cradle into the Mini-- I love the "Willie's Roadhouse" music station.

I have the same cradle mounts in all four vehicles, including our motor home. The antenna is just about the size of a BIG wrist watch (maybe a bit larger). Wow- it sure created a nightmare situation for me. All that had to be done was I inverted the antenna 180 degrees so that it now is affixed (with a small piece of Velcro tape) to the glass windshield vs the roof right above the windshield.

I'll try to add the pics again- Hooray, I got it with the pics- I can't use AOL as the server for the pics (which I was doing). Thank you "fire fox"

The problem-

The Fix-

Systemlord- If you will send me your regular email address (via PM here) I'll send you all kinds of pics of my install and some very, very interesting info about Sirius/XM radio--- Anyone else interested in Sirius/XM I'll also forward you a copy of this info via normal email-
Thanks everyone for your interest and your patience- This whole ordeal was driving me nuts.

What is it folks?

I've turned off the heating/ac system, turned the fan off, radio off, closed the vents, etc. It's still there.

Our house is being painted and the boss man told me his grandson, who is on the painting crew, had gone to computer school and he was a whiz kid on the web-- I immediately put him to work and after about 30 minutes he succeeded- Phew- this was an aggravating posting for me-

I'm now messing with the "noise maker". I believe it would be easier to remove the engine to get to the darn thing--

Sorry, I just had to.

Good to hear it's resolved. I had a very similar issue with my sunroof, thankfully they're quite adjustable.

Noise

I wish you hadn't said it was the antenna. I had this exact same noise start when I was at MINI's on the Dragon. I thought for sure that something huge had gone wrong after a ran the dragon pretty hard. However, when I got back to Fontana Village and was driving at slow speeds (25 MPH) it came on again. I don't have XM antenna...haven't heard it since but it didn't sound good.

Glad you figured it out, though!
