R56 NM stb rubbing vacuum line on N18
NM stb rubbing vacuum line on N18
I went to change out my air filter and noticed the NM stb is rubbing one of the hard plastic vacuum lines (please forgive me if that's not what it is). The friction between these two has removed quite a bit of plastic and flattened out the line to the point where I feel that it needs to be replaced. It's also removed some of the red powder coat from the stb. I see a part # of BMW 7 619 470-02 but it yields no results in Google. I've attached an image and outlined the line in green and marked the affected area in red. Could someone please provide the name and part number so that I can order a replacement?
It's worth noting that I was able to easily remove the front on the line as it snaps in place, but the rear of the line appears to join the line coming through the firewall. How exactly does that detach?
* It's also rubbing the rubber seal on the air intake assembly (marked in light blue).

The rubbing on the MAF sensor is no big deal, just remove the strut bar and grind a bit of the plastic off the top of the sensor to clear the bar.
As for the brake booster line, you can source some vacuum line from the local parts store for under $5 and run it yourself, as it is more pliant and won't have the contact points the factory line does. The factory line wasn't designed around modification, so you have to make modifications for the modifications.

Thanks Nick.
Just in case anyone is looking for the exact part # it is 11667619470

I'll see if I can carefully remove the plastic line from the ends and use some pliable vacuum tubing.

You can just replace it with a rubber hose. That is what we use on the DDM race intake system.
Also the later cars usually come with a rubber sleeve on the hose to keep it from rubbing on the hood, so if you can find that. Or just get a piece of rubber hose and put it on the plastic line.
