Reverse lights pulsing

Hello all. Weird issue, may not even be a problem... I recently swapped out my backup light bulbs to the new ECS Led bulbs. They look great. This may not be related to the issue. Tonight, with the car in park and the engine running, I noticed the reverse lights pulse every 3 or 4 minutes. One would pulse immediately after the other. I never noticed this before nor do I know if it is happening any other time. I wonder if it designed to do this for safety reasons. It was so odd to see and again the car was in park, with the headlights on and engine running.

Anyone see this before?

Thank you,

Ivan

I have those lights and I've only noticed that pulsing when I start the car, the lights pulse several times, circuit testing I want to say. I've never noticed nor been told that it pulses at any other time even when backing up.

The pulse is probably a low level signal on the circuit, that has enough power to light up an LED bulb but not enough power to be visible on a standard bulb. Most likely, this signal is used to test for a burnt out bulb.

That makes sense. Thank you. I was wondering if it was happening when I was driving too, but I was never told anything so I figured it was something along those lines.
