R56 HELP! ECU issues
HELP! ECU issues
I bought an 07 Mini Cooper Base automatic. Bought it with pretty much every light on and the transmission would always be stuck in 3rd gear. (I Know I probably shouldn't have bought it but the price was too good to say no).
Now I got everything checked and everything seemed to be just related to the ecu and nothing mechanically was wrong what so ever so I had the ecu "reprogrammed" is what the mechanic told me since then the mini has been running flawlessly like a brand new car until now..
Now the airbag light, seat belt light , and brake light (put all new brakes before the reprogram) is back and the tranny has a very slight kick in reverse and there is a big lag when accelerating although it's not stuck in 3rd gear (yet this has happened twice already and the tranny shop said they reset the ecu to fix it the 2nd time). The car runs beautifully when it's "reprogrammed" but I guess this fox only lasts a few weeks then it randomly acts up again. Could I just have a faulty ecu? Could I replace it with another used or maybe new ecu? What should I do? And if this is the answer where can I get one?
