R56Guy, looks like there is a good output on those lights. Do you had halogens HL and converted to xenons?

 

I realize this is dragging this one back from the dead, but what was the verdict? R56guy, did you use the 'halogen' housing, put a HID kit in it?

If so (seems that way) -- can you confirm the bulb (H9?), the harness setup (which canbus adapters did you use), 35w or 55w ballasts, which bulbs and ballasts?

ECS, that makes sense -- I found the Spyder ones on your website (2862390) -- and on another website, they have a kit that has HID bulbs, ballast, wiring harness.

I believe the components they put in the headlight capsules are probably not very good. My question is, what are the components to make it work on these cars? My guess is:

H9 HID bulbs
35w ballasts
H13/9008 wiring harness
Canbus adapters (flicker eliminators, whatever)

? anyone?

Love the look of these headlights!

Sorry to be picky, but does anyone know if they come without the washer part? My Mini does come with them and it would have a cleaner look IMO.

Its a great kit :

When you get the Spyder Xenon HID DRL kit ( PR0-YD-MC07-HID- ES2863258 ) for your Xenon optioned MINI with headlight washer, you take them out with a couple screws, unplug them and the go right into the new Spyder headlights. Hence the Spyder HID DRLs have cutouts and mounts for the factory Xenon headlight and covers. Then they work just like factory. Of course isf you halogen and go to the halogen Projector DRLs they have dummy chrome covers as the factory halogen headlights have no headlight washer jets.

Not me. I've been burned twice with fitment problems on non-OEM..

 

AZdsrt, what brands did you find to have fitment issues?

 

I've seen those on some R56s on instagram. Seems like a nice piece of kit but I don't know about the light performance or if it's a plug and play or you have to do a bit of modding on the wiring loom so I pass personally. They look great though.
