Ideally LTFT should be within 10% for the car to be running optimal, some people with the jb are bordering 20%, some are getting codes from it. Been there done that and learned some valuable lessons through my years of open source engine management tuning. Thankfully the jb is adjustable, the stock setup on the mini will still run the jb safely but not with engine mods.
I haven't seen any change in mpg either (26-27 since day one). I've have a few mods and my LTFT are spot on.

Not sure what's causing the P0171 codes. It would be nice to see if there is any commonality with respect to mods for people that get the code.

And how do you know that? (30hp for $1000 as opposed to 20hp for $300)

ummmm...where are you getting youre numbers pal....

JB+ offers +20HP +30FTLB on a stock car......those are the same numbers youd get from any basic stage 1 tune......

there are guys running Water/meth putting down 230HP with the JB+.......

find me another "real tune" that can deliver that for $300 and ill be impressed.

also...."real tunes" are pretty difficult to do on the N18s..... in case you didnt know.......

There are tunes that get 215-220whp(such as Manic and RennTech). With a stock car most N18s with the JB get 195-200whp. And really...spend $800-1000 on meth? No thanks, IMO. I'd spend my money towards manic, nm, RennTech, Smokey's, paw/group4auto for a true ECU tune. Don't get me wrong, JB is a great product for what it is, but with suspect AFR and using octane boosters such as torco and E85, I'd rather not damage my car. Piggyback is great for stock cars IMO, but an ECU tune is healthier for your MINI knowing that you get consistent AFR and advanced timing. Again, everything could be argued, but we still have yet to see a MCS with the JB on a dyno to prove those numbers(not from BMS, but forum members).

check the JB+ thread....several members have dynod their cars and posted results.....or if you want to wait a few months, im dynoing my car running the JB+ with torco and ill be more than happy to post my results....

also, i dont know where the myth of inconsistent AFRs came from.......ive been monitoring my AFRs on my car and ive seen nothing abnormal.....nor have i heard any reports of anyone having issue with their AFRs with a JB+......

I have only seen JCWs dynos. Let me know when yours is done. That's interesting cause my afr's were anywhere from 10.5-14.9 at WOT. That's very inconsistent especially after my hpfp and fuel filter was changed.

There's a RennTech one on here by Dikk(stock) or whatever his name is. Go look. And there's also a dyno by manic from John(not stock). So there's goes two different tunes.

Word... Quality over cheap.
cost =/= quality.

also, those of us who minis are daily drivers really cant afford wait several days while we to pull our ecu and ship them off to be tunned....

for gods sake, the car community needs to lose the attitude that if someone mods thier car differently than you do, that it must automatically suck.......goodness, every day i see the Mini scene becoming more and more like the honda scene...if its not JDM with hella-flush fittment, your car is a POS wanna-be....

It's totally understandable. Waiting 3-4 days isn't quite ideal for everyone. JB is still a good product! Trust me, our forum isn't close to the Honda scene lol...thank goodness for that:-).

Dang, I missed the dyno by that Dikk guy (couldn't find it either). I shoulda said "I" instead of we....lol. Long live the JB+ and thank you BMS for all of the money you saved me by not having to add any other mods to my car.

I'll send you the link through private message. Mind you he only had a K&N panel filter with the tune so he achieved 21whp and 51wtq, on an automatic. So imagine with other bolt on's. But I agree if you don't want to buy other mods and are content with the achievable power, more power to you to save money.
