How lowball is this trade in offer?
2007 MCS (see my sig), with 68K, very good shake. A few door dings need fixing (no paint), rear brakes (did the fronts), interior great. The dealership said without seeing it (he sold it to me so they know how it's configured) said $6k. Claimed they "spend" 2-3k reconditioning the car and have to make a profit. Anyone trade their 2007 MCS and if so what did you get? I'd take $8k but not 6. Thanks.

2-3k to recondition a car? They are paying too much. Lol. They would give you 5 for it if they could manage to get you to accept it. Obviously, if you can sell it on your own, you should be able to get more. Car dealers are not your friend, they are all business, as I am sure you are aware. Good luck. Let us know how things turn out.

get a one day subscription of Galves. Galves is what the dealers use to price cars. Galves will write you a check for what they say (as their guarantee)... print out the galves sheet and take it to the dealer... then watch the sales guy's face go from giddy to omg this guy knows what he's doing. good luck

In Oct I got $10k in trade for my BRG/W 2007S with English Oak interior, Tusc' leather, prem' pkg, 16" sidewinders with crap tires (dealer replaced b4 they advertised the car) 58,000 miles
that was near KBB and NOT a MINI dealer. I'd been trying to sell it myself for 2 months @ $12k and had a buyer but with a cash flow issue ... that's the problem with selling yourself. Have you the time to invest? I'm not a patient guy ... I wanted to move on so a trade is fast and easy.
***********
but as I've said b4 many times..... a used car is worth exactly what you can find a buyer willing to pay and not one penny more. If you want to sell that car NOW, you know what it is worth and do not have any regrets. Think you might get more by waiting? Then wait.

Dealers buy low and sell high .... no secrets there.

VERY happy with my 2014 Focus ST . . . when the turbo kicks in, hold on .... and it sticks to the curves as well as my MINI 07 .... but I still have my Mini 79 for old school experiences

He upped it to $8k, and did $1k off the sticker price of the JCW Couple, $36k out the door including tax/license. That's not horrible. I may do it if my building sells this week. I'm back and forth between the JCW Couple and waiting to drive the F56 in a few months. A super loaded F56 would be $3.6k cheaper, but it wouldn't look nearly as cool as the JCW Coupe with Recaros.

Personally I'd wait it out and drive the F56. You won't know for sure if its the right thing to do or not until you see and drive the F56 for yourself. Besides they're still manufacturing the coupes right now so it's not like they'll be gone in a couple months time. If its numb, boring, ugly, or whatever, then you'll know the coupe is the way to go. If the F56 blows your socks off, then the same can be said about it and get the F56.
