What year is your car. Mini sells hid headlamp upgrade units as a whole with everything included. Believe this works for 2010+. Theres a billion threads on it already. Think its about $800 or something, so its a good deal

Thanks for the mention Bmwx045;

They are for the 9/2009+ MINIs R56 Hardtop, R55 Clubman, R57 Convertible + & R58 Coupe , R59 Roadster . A MINI dealership can flash them to turn on the Xenon after the install so they don't pulsate on start up. They just bolt in and plug in. I think they charge 1 hr but check around at multiple MINI dealers in your area.

We have them right here:

Xenon Headlight Titanium Gray 25 W - Left part # 63102347698

&

Xenon Headlight Titanium Gray 25 W - Right Part # 63102347700

Here is a link to them installed. Scroll to the bottom.

The factory retrofit is SEVERAL THOUSAND DOLLARS...a great deal on a new car...pretty cost prohibitive as a retrofit.
This mini/bmw kit is an economy kit mini is selling to fit the desires for folks like you, to upgrade to xenon's...it is NOT the same as the lights that come on a new car, but a mini branded aftermarket part, sold by mini....
As you found out, just tossing a xenon bulb in a Halogen housing proved pretty poor results...so you must change the whole housing...
The 25 watt mini kit should provide you with better lighting....not like the oem xenon's, but better than the halogens and certainly BETTER than the aftermarket xenon kits....
The kit is very new....
Not many reviews yet....just handfuls of installs...let's face it...
Many folks toss in a $120 kit....
Then add fogs or driving lights to make up for lack of light....
Blinding everyone else.... But many mini drivers are kinda cheap...
Many just want the bluer/whiter look of xenon's, and could care less if they are useless at night...heck some eBay housings are lowbeam only....but cheap.....and provides the illusion of having bought a higher trim level to others.....

If you like doing unique mods I look at TRS, it is cheaper and will be bringhter, but not OEM.

I have a few pics here to show how it went for me (the first time I did it on my MINI).

Dremeled a little bit out because of this.

I just don't had confidence to do mods like that myself lol. I'd be so anxious id mess something up that I probably would. What worries me is cracking open the headlight unit and then having to reseal it.

Opening and closing the headlight is the easy part, 200F in the oven for 5-7 minutes and patience while prying off. No crazy moves and they come right off. They go back on the same way or even a sunny day will soften them up enough to press back together.

OR

Go to the dealership and have them order a set of these lights (<$1000) for you and you just swap them over in <5-10 minutes.
