Stripes for 08 MCS?

Sorry, this might be a dumb question but I ordered a set of stripes off of eBay and was wondering if the stripes are supposed to be straight or should they be curved? Will straight stripes be able to contour to the curves of the hood? Is there any information on OEM placement of the stripes? I've checked around and haven't found any info on this. Thank you!

Beats the heck outa me. I just ordered a set from stripemymini.com , but I'm gonna have my bodywork guy remove the old stripes and install the new. At 67 I don't have the steady hand, or patience for this kind of job any more.

No problem. I used the 'wet' method. I got new stripes from a now defunct supplier who included a small plastic squeegee with a microfiber edge on one side. You'll need something like that to work out air bubbles. Keeping it wet makes it easy to work it around before it sets. For wet you'll want a spray bottle with water and a touch of detergent.
You might be able to get an idea from the picture on placement. I got them taped down, folded it back from the top to half way, peeled back the backing then cut it off and laid it back down gradually squeegee-ing as it went to get it smooth then did the same on the other half. don't try to hurry it and be patient and yes, they will work themselves around the contours.
Hope this helps.

PS: The little blue dammit leaning against the windscreen is the squeegee.

Thanks for the info! Just worried that I might get folds trying to get the stripes to curve. A buddy of mine wraps cars for D1 events and the like. He volunteered to help me out. I have a pure silver metallic MCS too. They look great!

Another resource that might help though it's for installing boot stripes is this.

The idea of smoothing them down as you go is well demonstrated.
Scroll down about half way and he's got step by step. I added boot stripes about 2 years ago and really like them.
