Hi all,
My 2011 MCS lit up the yellow outline engine light when I started it for this evenings commute. It stuttered a second then settled down to normal idle. The low fuel light came on on the drive to work this morn. I drove it about five miles to tank it up, and it stuttered when started again, but again settled right down. No driveability issues at all.
Could the low fuel and 4° temp be the culprit? Maybe water in the fuel? Will the light go out in a few days or is it dealer time?
FWIW, I drive about 30 miles one way to work, so I know it gets warmed up, or at least as warm as it can get in this weather!

 

Hard to say. The cold could be an issue, so could fuel quality.

Get a code reader and come back to us with more info.

 

Okay, it started just fine this morning. I did check for codes and got a P1730. Cleared it but no change with light.
I check the on board computer and it tested okay. Also, the engine outline is only showing in the speedometer, not in the window in the tach.
As before, I'm not noticing any change in driving, engine response, or mileage. Oh, I checked my gas cap and it's clicked and snug!
