I'll second this. The summer run flats and all-season tires these cars come with are just downright horrible on snow and ice. With winter tires, these cars are transformed into absolute champs on winter roads. We're not bs'ing that these cars will 'plow' through snow - I do it every winter in my MINI and have vids to prove it (look up AKJeeper on youtube). I have yet to get it stuck.

I will take my Jeep to work on days where the snow is deep enough that a lifted Cherokee with winter tires has a chance of getting stuck. Or on days where the snow has turned to ice before the snow plows could get to it. The plastic bumper and undercarriage does not fare well with ice a foot thick (ask me how I know).

The idea of leaving my MINI at home whenever there's more than 1" of snow on the ground is just hilarious. I didn't buy it to keep it in the garage!
