Great *Snow* Photo!!

I knew there was a good reason that I ordered the rear spoiler. A peep hole window.

yep sure do just bought some 16 inch rims and a set of winter claw exteme grip snow tires could have been studded but didn't. Was surprised at how well they handled. went xmas shopping sat night after it been snowing for a couple of hours. just pushed the traction button on, this is a fwd model cm. The hole time I was gone never saw a plow truck and the roads hadn't been touched. then this week had another 6 or 7 inches of snow drop I couldn't believe how well the cm went. I live on a dead end street 2 miles down, about a half mile from home was a wrecker helping a guy that went off the road was in the ditch and had hit a tree. No one was hurt. the road had about 4 to 5 inches of snow on it,my road always gets plowed last for some reason. It stopped snowing about 2 hours after I parked the car. The funny thing is all the vehicles I went around had all season tires on them they would sit and spin and creep along, I'd be gone.

I drove my '07 MCS in I-495 MA and had a blast!!!

kinda weird now that the temps in the Chicago area are going to be in the upper 40s for the next 24 hours . Its going to turn to poop come Monday though . High in the 9's !

No snow for mine, she's terrible in the snow. Although that is very likely due to the tires. They're Delinte Thunder D7's, which are all-terrains. Not totally impressed with them but they work fine on dry and wet roads. I still have a 4-wheel drive truck to drive in snowy conditions to its not an issue. If I were to sell the truck I would get me a set of snow tires for winter driving.


I was very excited today when I could drive 'Orca' again after a week of her sitting in the garage. We got 12" of snow last weekend and it finally melted enough for me to drive her. Pretty excited.

You probably meant "all-season" tires, and yes, they under-perform in all seasons, including the winter

It's more obvious on ice and snow, but all-seasons also leave significant room for traction and performance improvement in the summer. Assuming budget allows, consider getting 2 proper sets of wheels and tires: winter and performance summer rubber - the best "upgrade" you can make on your car!

When I bought the car I also got a set of Bridgestone Potenza RE760 Sports that are in the original JCW rims. Looking at the reviews those look to be a better summer tire. I bought the car in the winter so maybe the previous owner thought those D7s would be the winter tires and the RE760s for summer use?

RE760s will be a definite improvement over no-brand (sorry) all-seasons you have on the other set of wheels. When the time comes to replace RE760s, consider researching even higher-performance possibilities here: www.tirerack.com

The previous owner probably bought the cheapest set of tires he could find, and that's how you became the proud owner of Chinese no-name rubber.

I live in Alaska and drive mine year round. I have an 11 R56 S and it's been my daily driver for three years and love it.

Every winter for the last 11 years, lowered and all. Often I'm the first one out so I get to "plow" the road for everyone else.

Now I think of it I drove it in snow on my way home from Utah, to California when I bought it in 2002

No snow here yet in South Georgia. I tend to run my Mini only when the weather is nice. If it is raining bad I drive the other car. It just makes it easier in the cooler months to keep the Mini clean.

I am sure it is a fine car but in bad weather if fear ending up under a truck or something seeing that mine is the Coupe.

Not sure how the S Coupe would handle in snow, but looks fun and if I lived back in Northern Illinois I would have no choice but to drive it or lock it up for six months.

You could say that I drive my "S" in the snow!!! Yokohama W-Drive tires and it's a little beast. Almost plows it's own way down the street : )

I very much approve of this picture. I have a similar one of mine turtled in my driveway. It got unstuck without any drama, it's just surprisingly great at snow.

I think there are a few too many ski boots and helmets for the number of people who fit in a "2" seater car

But, I can say, I have done that also. Great snow cars with the right snow tires. And, I don't hesitate to head to the slopes in a snow storm.

Has anyone experience damage to the front spoiler ? My Mini came with a JCW's body kit and the front spoiler is a lot lower to the ground than I am used to .

I wince every time that I see an ice chunk in the road that I can't avoid, but I haven't had any damage. this is my 3rd winter with this car.

I hate the ice chunks too. Today, I had F-er in a large SUV of GM product getting closer and closer to me on a straight country road of 60mph limit. I finally decided to go 70. Still, on my ***. so,..it's country with nothing around, bumped to 75mph. Still nothing gives. We came to a stop sign where I know of a quick left turn in a mile; and into a sort of curvy road to a state park lake where nobody goes this time of year. Hurrah for the MCS; Jumped on it up the straightaway with ***** still trying to keep up, still trying, flashed around the curve to the other straitaway to the park and of course left her in the dust and lost her in the park. What a *****! I saw her trying in my rear-view mirror; I hit 110 before I couldn't see her anymore. It sort of freaked me out why she was trying to keep up with me in a mean way. I did nothing before that. She had an attitude. couldn't have done that with a Dodge Colt! ha ha ha! I safely lost her, wondering WTF? I know Escalades have Vette engines, but ..huh?? really??

got my first wintry weather of my MCS ownership (and manual driving) life... 6 or so inches of wet snow in NH over the weekend... the car was great, the Michelin Pilot Sports I just put on were up to the task... my only learning curve was that DSC should really be disengaged for starting at a light on an icy, significant grade...

Oh really. ***** really get's it on. Can I hear B? Can hear I? silly thing on! I see that word here all the time. Screw you. this was real and if you can't handle it, then grow up. this actually freaked me out a bit and glad to get away from the scary Escalade.

I'm stationed in ND. It's snows like a ***** here.
