MCS Air Conditioner Quality?

Hello All,
I know 'tis the season to use your heater here in the northeast, but this came out of a random car quality discussion with a friend earlier today.

I have an '07 MCS. I bought it in late August. The weather around here at the time was warm, dry, and pleasant and the A/C worked fine. I am wondering if it will do the job in the high heat of summer. I have a sunroof and a white top and am planning to vinyl wrap the transparent panes in the sunroof with white before summer returns. Can any of you who live in places with at least a part time hot climate speak to the MCS's A/C's ability to cope, and especially if you have an '07.

Thanks very much.

my 07S with auto-a/c white top with sunroof was fine in central Florida summers.

I have a 09 JCW I live in a hot climate I find the A/c to be pretty good even on hot days keeps the inside of the car cool.. when its really hot it takes a little while to catch up but once its cool it stays just about perfect too me.

I've had cars with colder a/c but the MINI gets the job done just fine

The A/C copes well with Northern California sun, even with a black roof.

In Houston with high temps & humidity, the AC keeps up but like others said it takes a short while to catch up. I keep it on auto all year round and during the peak summer time the fan is always running on mid to high speed. This can at times be annoying especially after a hard day on the long drive home.

Down here in the sunshine state my AC works just fine on the hottest days so far. But I prefer the sunroof open and windows down personally.

hot weather tips:

a) a sun shield for the front was very useful ....

b) when the car has gotten HOT, Pop the s/r open - just cracked open is fine - heat rises! Let that hot air OUT. 5 minutes was typically enuf.

I did live with my auto a/c set on 68 almost always ... on an American car it is set well above that. Have to admit that US cars tend to have much stronger a/c systems . . .
