2007 mcs tpms

Hi all,

This is my first post in the forum, so forgive me if there is any mistake.
I don't know if you guys have talked about this topic, but I couldn't find any related information through search option.

Okay, I have 2007 MINI Cooper S. A couple months ago, I upgraded the rims to 18" JCW R113 with tire size 215/40 R18, ditching Run Flat tires. In couple weeks, the TPMS warning came on after I drove in highway for 30 miles or so. I stopped and the checked tire pressure, I found everything okay and reset the TPMS.

Lately, the TPMS come on almost everyday. I use the car to commute to work. In the morning it comes on, and the way back it does too. All this time I thought this car had TPMS mounted on the rims. Since I saw some article saying that TPMS can last up to 5 years or so, my guess was the TPMS need to be replaced. So, I took it to local tire shop. They told me the sensor in this car is integrated to ABS system, not mounted to the rims. My wheels got rubber stem.

I tried to google this issued, but most of the result is rim-mounted TPMS. Any one has solution to this problem? Any information would appreciate.

Make sure pressures are uniform all the way around and reset it. I have never had it come back on after I reset it, and I run different pressures front and rear. It might be something wrong with the system itself.
